Endorsement of Research Projects by the BSH Research Committee
Notes for Guidance:
1. The BSH Research Committee (BSHRC) is committed to supporting research projects that help to advance and improve patient care and outcomes and will endorse projects that meet this broad remit.
2. Such endorsement does not carry any financial backing.
3. In order to ensure transparency, we request you to complete the attached template outlining the study proposal.
4. Completed applications should be sent to the Research Group Chair who will acknowledge receipt and delegate to an appropriate taskforce lead
5. It is recognised that applicants may wish to keep their study proposal confidential, although no legal responsibility will be accepted for any breach of confidentiality.
6. This application form is intended to help determine if the study meets the remit of the BSHRC and potential overlap with existing endorsed projects. Following submission, it will be reviewed by the BSHRC and feedback will be given by the Committee lead.
7. The process of endorsement is not intended to be a peer review process by the Committee and no feedback on the study design will be given.
8. The process of endorsement is not intended to be a peer review process by the Committee and no feedback on the study design will be given
9. It is not necessary to submit a full study proposal in addition although this would be helpful.
10. For projects that are endorsed, a letter of support will be provided by the Chair of the Research Committee.
11. When a project is endorsed, a letter will be sent stating that ‘The BSH Research Committee supports this application’. This does not imply that the study design is robust and/or should be funded.
12. The timescale for a reply should be within 3 months from submission.
