Professor Roy Gardner is a consultant cardiologist for the Scottish National Advanced Heart Failure Service and former Chair of the BSH Board.

Roy has specialist interests in advanced heart failure, cardiac transplantation, mechanical circulatory support and complex device implantation. Roy has an active research profile and is also the author/editor of two books published by Oxford University Press: The Oxford Textbook of Heart Failure, and the Oxford Specialist Handbook of Heart Failure.

Roy is also a clinical expert for NICE, and an Honorary Professor at the University of Glasgow.
